Minerals

We are covering the properties of minerals preparing for an exam on Thursday or Friday of this week. Students should know the parts of the atom and basic mineral properties.

Friday December 13 " Minerals"

Work to complete for the substitute teacher...

1. Spend the first 10 minutes reading the “Mineral Properties” paper that is already on your desks.  Leave the reading for the next class.  This is a class set!
2. You may use earbuds to listen to personal music while you read but your chrome books should be closed. 
3. After 10 minutes you will be given the question worksheet.  Use the reading to complete the questions.  When you are done put the worksheet into our class box.
4. If there is still time, go to BrainPop.com.  Click the “Clever” button on the pop up.  This will allow you to sign in to your school google accounts.  Next click the “dashboard” button at the top of the screen.  This will show the assignment called “Minerals”.

Watch the video and answer the review quiz questions.

Wednesday Dec. 11 "Crystals Notes"

Students need to use the first 5 minutes of class to go to Brainpop.com.  After they log in through "Clever" they will need to click on the Dashboard and complete the assignment on Crystals.  They will watch a video and complete a review quiz.
After the video please take time to copy the following notes on the next clean page in your Notebook.

Monday December 9 Atoms Notes continued.

Thursday Dec. 5 (Extra work)

Today students have completed 2 assignments on Google Classroom.  Please complete the "Atoms Tutorial" and the "Atoms on Brain Pop".  All instructions are on Google Classroom.

Tuesday December 3 (Notebook Setup)

Today we took time to set up our notebooks for the Rock and Minerals unit.  Students need to create a cover page with the title "Rocks and Minerals".  They can draw anything that relates to rocks and minerals.  On the cover page they need to write our 4 "I can..." statements.  Next they need to create 2 "Bellwork" pages.  Examples are shown below.
