Thursday August 24

Students are doing an activity in class that requires them to be a detective and solve a mystery.  They are collecting evidence and trying to determine who caused a bicycle accident. This is an introduction to the scientific method and the process of scientific observation. Below is the bellwork and worksheet, as well as the still pictures of the accident site. Unfortunately the video of witness testimony's is too large to upload. Students can view these in class tomorrow.
Students made observations on the worksheet.  Their homework is to determine who caused the accident and WHY! Students must use observations they took as evidence to support their reasoning.

Horace Breem was driving the car
Rodney Doorf was riding the bike
The accident took place at 4:45 am Sept. 4, 1991

Rodney claims that Mr. Breem was speeding and purposely ran into him.
Mr. Breem states that Rodney came "out of nowhere" and ran into the side of his car.

The following still photographs follow the order in the worksheet.
